to Pamukkale. On
arrival visit the natural formation of the travertens, "Cotton
Cliffs", which are formed by the
deposit of calcareous salts. Also visit the ancient ruins of the
City of Hierapolis with its
Bascilica, Theatre and Roman Baths. Lunch is included in the tour
as well as transfer
back to your hotel in Kusadasi or to the bus station in Pamukkale.

Morning
departure from the hotel and drive to the town of Bergama where
the ancient site of
Pergamum is located. Here you will have the chance to visit the
Asclepion and Health Centre.
As you make your way to the Acropol, the Red Basilica, originally
a temple of Serapis, can
be viewed. The most spectacular structure is certainly the theatre,
a remarkable piece of
engineering built into the steep hillside. Lunch is included during

PRIENE,

in hotel lobby and depart in the morning for Priene which in its
time was one of the
most spectacular of all the Ancient Ionians Cities. After the
visit here we then travel on to
Miletus with its magnificent theatre and the Byzantine fortress
on the acropolis above. Last,
but not least, visit Didyma. Here you will find the largest Ionic
Temple in the world, that of
Apollo. Also in Didyma lies the huge, cracked head of Medusa which
long ago fell from the frieze. Lunch is included in the tour as
well as transfer back to your hotel. |
