Day 01 : Welcome to King's Landing : Dubrovnik
Meet at Dubrovnik Airport on your flight arrival and transfer to the hotel. Then begin a half day exploration of "King's Landing", during which your guide will show you many filming locations within Dubrovnik & its walls used as settings for highlight scenes. Walk the Red Keep, locally known as Lovrijenac Fortress, along with the Island of Lokrum used as the set for Qarth. Follow Arya Stark and see where Daenerys gave freedom to her dragons. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (includes: airport transfer, expert tour guide & main entrance fees, accommodation)
Day 02 : Path to Meereen : Arboretum Trsteno / Ston / Imotski / Split
Today's journey along the coast from Dubrovnik through to Split takes you on a path of revenge, intrigue and fantasy. First visit is a walk through the Arboretum Trsteno-Historic gardens with stunning flora and architecture, a perfect setting for gossip and intrigue. Then to the Walls of Ston, 3.5 miles long and dating back to the 14th century, used as part of King’s Landing. Also stop in the lovely town of Ston to enjoy Oyster tasting. Late afternoon continue to Imotski where fantasy and reality merge through the natural wonder of the Red and Blue Lake. View additional locations & enjoy a wine tasting with prosciutto and cheese. Arrive to Split around 8PM and check-in to hotel with remainder of the evening at leisure. Day 03 : Hell's Islands & Slaver's Bay : Hvar / Paklenjaci / Vis / Bisevo
Daenerys found comfort in these magnificent sea views and hopefully so will you. Head to the port and depart by boat to isolated Vis then the island of Bisevo and the magical "Blue Cave". This cave is only accessible by diving and illuminated by both the sun and the moon, glowing with an incredible aquamarine light. Then on to visit Stiniva Bay and the Green Cave with time for swimming, snorkelling and a snack. Last but certainly not least, the island of Hvar, rich in art & history, fans would recognise this as the setting for Slaver’s Bay. Hell’s Islands (Paklenjaci), a group of small picturesque islands just outside of Hvar, are easily accessed by speedboat and home to charming taverns and small family hotels. Return by boat to Split with evening free at leisure. Overnight in Split (includes private boat transfers, guiding & main entrances, lunch, drinks/snacks, safety & snorkeling gear)
Day 04 : The New Throne : Sibenik / Krka National Park
Today head on to Sibenik, known in the series as the "New Throne". The cities fortified walls and ancient architecture can be seen in the fifth season. A perpetual stronghold for many rulers, Sibenik is protected by four fortresses on each of its side: the Fortress of St. Nicholas, St. Michael, St. John and the Subicevac Fortress. Returning to nature, head on to the Krka National Park which is used for numerous nature scenes in the fourth season. A breathtaking place with cascading waterfalls, green flora and the clear blue water. Before returning to Split, end the day's outing with a late lunch & wine tasting in Konjevrate Village, another natural backdrop used in the show with stone houses. Day 05 : Freeing the Slaves : Split Diocletian Palace / Watermill & Quarry / Klis Fortress
The morning is free at leiusure. Later afternoon meet to begin guided visit of the 1700-year-old Mediterranean city of Split, used as the setting for Meereen. Visit Diocletian’s Palace with its narrow streets and ancient basements. Head out to the suburbs to the town of Zrnovnica, whose green mill was used for Missandei’s bathing scene. Continue on to the town’s quarry, where the Unsullied battled for Daenerys. Finally, walk the path to the top of Klis Fortress, as it transforms into the Meereen throne. A perfect way to end your tour, enjoy an authentic Game of Thrones dinner. *Accommodation is not included on this evening but can be added - let us know how many additional days/nights you would like to spend in Croatia and we will tailor an option for you.
