Overview
This 13-day travel package covers the most famous highlights of 03 countries: from the treasures of Istanbul to lunar-like Cappadocia, then the Acropolis of Athens & sunset views in Santorini, ending with the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo.
• This is a flexible travel package for individuals. You select your own travel dates & we then tailor the itinerary & quotation accordingly.
• The itinerary can be modified to exclude some areas and/or include other areas in either country. Order can also be changed to start from Cairo ending Athens or start from Cairo ending Istanbul.
Tour itinerary
DAY 01 - Arrival to Istanbul
As per your flight arrival time, meet in the arrivals hall for transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Istanbul
DAY 02 - Sultanahmet Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, meet at the hotel to join on a full-day walking tour visiting the Blue Mosque, St Sophia, Hippodrome and Obelisk, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace. Evening free at leisure and overnight in Istanbul
DAY 03 - Bosphorus Cruise & Flight to Cappadocia
In the morning, join a half-day tour taking you for a cruise on the Bosphorus during which you have views from the vessel of various historical sights that line its shores. The tour also includes a visit to the famous Spice Bazaar. Late afternoon, transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Cappadocia, arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight Cappadocia
DAY 04 - Cappadocia Tour with Goreme
*Optional extra: very early morning 1-hour hot air balloon ride over the Cappadocian valley
Join on a full-day tour during which you explore Devrent Valley and Monk's Valley (Pasabagi) with fairy chimneys; break for lunch in Avanos, a village famous for its pottery; then visit Goreme Open-Air Museum exploring churches and monasteries with their frescoes. Also, view Uchisar Natural rock castle. Overnight in Cappadocia
DAY 05 - Cappadocia Red Valley & Underground City
After breakfast, join on another full-day tour, this time starting with a 4km hike (approx 2hrs) in Red Valley exploring rock-cut churches and fairy chimneys as you make your way to Cavusin (an old Greek village). After lunch, visit Kaymakli Underground City with its intricate and winding levels carved into the soft volcanic rock. The tour also includes a stop at Pigeon Valley for panoramic views. DAY 06 - Flight to Athens
Transfer to the airport for connecting flight to Athens (via Istanbul). Arrive and transfer to the hotel for evening free at leisure. Overnight in Athens
DAY 07 - Athens City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel then join on one of the following regular group excursions (let us know your preference, if coach tour or walking tour):
a) 5hr Coach tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & panoramic drive in the city center
b) 5hr Walking tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & stroll through the city center
Afternoon and evening free at leisure for you to further explore on your own. Overnight in Athens.
DAY 08 - Ferry Athens to Santorini
Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to the port for a fast ferry to Santorini (*domestic flights are also available). On arrival, transfer to hotel with the rest of the day and evening free at leisure for you to begin exploring around the island on your own. Overnight in Santorini
DAY 09 - Santorini at leisure
A full day for you to relax on one of the many beaches, do some sightseeing around the town and numerous villages, visit a winery or hike the scenic route from Fira to Oia. Overnight in Santorini
DAY 10 - Flight to Cairo
Transfer to the airport for connecting flight to Cairo (via Athens). Arrive and transfer to the hotel for evening free at leisure. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 11 - Giza Pyramids tour
Transfer to the airport for connecting flight to Athens (via Istanbul). Arrive and transfer to the hotel for evening free at leisure. Overnight in Athens
DAY 12 - Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis & Sakkara
Breakfast then depart with a private Cairo tour guide to begin the full-day tour with a visit to Memphis and view the beautiful representation of King Ramsis II through his colossal statue. Proceed to Sakkara and visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser. At the Pyramids area, visit the three Pyramids built for Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus on the Giza Plateau and the mysterious Sphinx. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 13 - Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo
Today, with your private Cairo guide, explore the downtown area visiting the Egyptian Museum (downtown museum, the new GEM is on request), the Citadel of Saladin (Alabaster Mosque & Tomb of Ottoman ruler Mohamed Ali) and the Old Cairo area where you find a mixture between Islamic & Christian Monuments such as the Hanging Church dating back to the beginning of the 5th-century AD. Also, visit the famous Khan El-Khalily Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 14 - Departure
As per your international flight departure time. transfer from the hotel to Cairo Airport.
