Overview
This flexible travel package includes day tours covering the highlights of Istanbul, Athens & Cairo, then free time to unwind on the world-famous island of Santorini. The order in which the countries are arranged can be changed (if required) and additional areas in either country can also be added (such as a Nile Cruise in Egypt, additional islands in Greece, possibly Cappadocia or Ephesus in Turkey).
Tour itinerary
DAY 01 : Welcome to Istanbul
Meet in the arrivals hall of Istanbul Airport and transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day/evening is then free at leisure for you relax or begin exploring the local surroundings on your own. Overnight in Istanbul
DAY 02 : Sultanahmet Walking Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, join on a full day regular group walking tour (private guided on request) covering some of the most important sights in the historical Sultanahmet area. Visit the Blue Mosque, St Sophia, Hippodrome and Obelisk, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace. Overnight in Istanbul
DAY 03 : Bosphorus Cruise
Enjoy another full day tour, this time starting with a morning cruise on the Bosphorus. After the cruise, the tour continues with visits to the Spice Bazaar, Beylerbeyi Palace, Camlica Hill & the Spice (Egyptian) Bazaar. The evening is then free at leisure. Overnight in Istanbul
DAY 04 : Flight to Santorini
Transfer to Istanbul Airport for departure on flight (via Athens) to Santorini. Arrive and meet for transfer to hotel with remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight in Santorini
DAY 05 : Santorini
The day is free to enjoy the island as you wish. Explore various villages, visit museums, a winery or simple relax on one of the beaches with different colored sands. Overnight in Santorini
DAY 06 : Ferry to Athens
As per chosen timing, transfer to the port for fast ferry to Athens (flights are also available on request). Arrive and transfer to the hotel, evening free at leisure for you to stroll around the historical Plaka area or enjoy the nightlife of the Psirri area. Overnight in Athens
DAY 07 : Athens City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel then join on one of the following regular group excursions (please advise your preference, or coach tour or walking tour, when making your request):
a) 5hr Coach tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & panoramic drive in city center
b) 5hr Walking tour: visit Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum & stroll through the city center
Afternoon and evening free at leisure for you to further explore on your own. Overnight in Athens
DAY 08 : Flight to Cairo:
Transfer to Athens Airport for international flight to Cairo, arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 09 : Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis & Sakkara
With a private Cairo tour guide, begin a full-day tour with a visit to Memphis and view the beautiful statue of King Ramsis II. Proceed to Sakkara and visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser. At the Giza Pyramids area, visit the three Pyramids built for Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus and the mysterious Sphinx. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 10 : Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo
Today, explore the downtown area visiting the Egyptian Museum (the new GEM is on request), the Citadel of Saladin (Alabaster Mosque & Tomb of Ottoman ruler Mohamed Ali) and the Old Cairo area where you find a mixture between Islamic & Christian Monuments such as the Hanging Church dating back to the beginning of the 5th-century AD. Also, visit the famous Khan El-Khalily Bazaar. Overnight in Cairo
DAY 11 - Departure from Cairo
As per your international flight departure time, transfer from the hotel to Cairo Airport.
