Overview

This travel package offers you the chance to combine a Greek Island Cruise with guided sightseeing of the mainland. The cruise will take you to some of the most beautiful islands (Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Santorini, Crete) then journey into myth and legend during the guided mainland tour (Olympia, Delphi, Meteora & Mycenea). A great way to combine the best of both worlds.

Tour itinerary

DAY 01 - Arrival (Sunday):
Welcome to Greece! On arrival to Athens Airport our representative will be there to meet you and transfer on to hotel for check-in. Overnight in Athens.

DAY 02 - Cruise to Mykonos (Monday):
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to port to begin embarkation procedures. The Greek Island Cruise departs from the port in Athens at 11am and heads towards its first port of call, Mykonos. Here you will have time to explore around the town and enjoy the nightlife for which it is internationally famous.

DAY 03 - Cruise to Patmos & Kusadasi (Tuesday):
Cruise arrives early morning to the Port of Kusadasi in Turkey. Here you can either visit around the town on your own or join on the regular group shore excursions to Ephesus offered by the cruiseline. (If you prefer we can arrange a private guided tour for you to visit the ruins of Ephesus and/or the House of Virgin Mary). Then back to the port for noon sailing to the Greek Island of Patmos. It was to this island that St. John the Theologian was exiled and inspired to write the Book of Revelations. The cave where he lived is near the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. Various shore excursions on offer for sightseeing.

DAY 04 - Cruise to Rhodes (Wednesday):
Today arrive early morning of the wonderful island of Rhodes. Here you have a full day to explore the medieval "Old Town" of Rhodes or join on one of the cruise shore excursions. The cruise departs early evening heading towards the island of Crete, the largest in Greece.

DAY 05 - Cruise to Santorini & Heraklion (Thursday):
Arrive to the city of Heraklion in Crete. Here you have around four hours to explore on your own or take the optional shore excursion to visit the Knossos Palace ruins. Then departs for the famous island of Santorini with arrival in the late afternoon. Explore the town of Fira, take a cable car ride or even a donkey ride. Late evening begin the voyage back to Athens.

DAY 06 - Athens City Tour (Friday):
Arrival Athens, breakfast onboard then disembark for transfer to join on the half day morning Athens city tour. During panoramic drive you have views of some of the most important historical and architectural sights of the city centre. Tour also includes visit to the New Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis (Propylaea, Temple of Athens Nike, Erechteion and Parthenon). Afternoon is at leisure for you to relax and/or further explore around Athens on your own. Overnight Athens.

DAY 07 - Mainland Tour, Mycenea & Epidaurus (Saturday):
Breakfast, check-out and join on 04-day Classical Mainland Tour (there is also a 03-day option excluding Meteora). Depart from Athens by the Coastal Road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on and visit the Theatre of Epidauros famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nauplion (short stop) & drive on to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Depart for Oympia, "cradle of the Olympic Game" through the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia.

DAY 08 - Mainland Tour, Olympia (Sunday):
In the morning visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Then drive through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until the new magnificent bridge which crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea until arrival to Delphi. Overnight in Delphi.

DAY 09 - Mainland Tour, Delphi (Monday):
Morning visit to the Archaeological Site and the Museum of Delphi. Then depart for Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora. Overnight Kalambaka.

DAY 10 - Mainland Tour, Kalambaka (Tuesday):
Visit Meteora and enjoy a unique and impressive scenery with ageless Monasteries, containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between Earth and Sky atop huge rocks. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae (view of Leonida's Monument from across the road). Arrival back to Athens in the early evening. Overnight in Athens. (For the visit to the Monasteries ladies need to wear a skirt, gentlemen long trousers).

DAY 11 - Departure (Wednesday):
Breakfast, check-out and per your international flight departure time transfer to Athens Airport.
